There is an undoubtable increase in "binging" behaviour resulting in significant losses to employers and their businesses.

A recent Radio Times survey in the United Kingdom looked at the binge viewing habits of 5500 people.

This is a recent phenomenon with the advent of Netflix and other streaming services which allow viewers to watch entire series of TV shows in one go.

Parliament has been shaken by the finding that it is a toxic workplace with systematic bullying and harassment.

People management consultant Debbie Francis undertook an independent review of bullying and harassment in Parliament. She spoke with people and created an online survey which was completed by 1000 people.

Numerous incidents of sexual harassment and violence were reported. Fourteen people reported sexual assault, and 104 people reported unwanted touching or sexual advances. More ...

Vodafone New Zealand was recently acquired for $3.4 billion by Infrantil and Canadian firm Brookfield Asset Management. The deal is subject to regulatory approvals but is expected to be completed by the end of August.

Vodafone NZ chief executive Jason Paris says: "The key things will stay the same" including Vodafone's management team and people.

However, Vodafone has reportedly been preparing to make 200 call centre workers redundant. Some workers are being offered contracts to work from Christchurch for Indian outsourcing firm Tech Mahindra, which will provide services to Vodafone. More ...

The world watched in horror as Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris was burning.

Fortunately, it was saved from total destruction by the courage of the firefighters who responded to save this global icon.

The cause of the blaze has not been authoritatively determined, but investigators have focused on several theories.

One possibility was that the fire was caused by workers carrying out the renovations, a theory fuelled by the discovery of cigarette butts at the scene. The construction company has admitted that there were some workers who were smoking on site, despite a strict smoking ban. More ...

Furlong lodged a complaint. The Employment Tribunal in England sitting in Liverpool ruled that Furlong was directly discriminated against on the grounds of sexual orientation, race, and sex. More ...
